High Performance Module Technology
REC started as a manufacturer of high-quality solar grade silicon and wafer materials. Since 2003, REC has been manufacturing high-performance modules for commercial, residential and utility applications.
Today, REC is the most integrated solar company in the world, with silicon, wafers, cells and modules production operations. REC works to achieve the highest quality standards and draws on more than a decade of research and development in solar materials, engineering and production management.
Since its startup in 2003, REC has continually expanded. REC recently completed the world's largest integrated wafer, cell and module facility in Singapore. The Singapore plant is capable of producing approximately 600 MW of solar modules, taking REC's worldwide module capacity to 750 MW.
REC is committed to the production of clean energy. The company is continuously developing new technologies to lower carbon footprints and reduce energy payback time. REC modules are designed and engineered to meet the highest quality standards and provide stable power output over the lifetime of the product.
As an indication of the yield performance of REC’s products, which is of major importance to the solar system owner, Photon Laboratory’s annual field test has consistently put REC in a top-3 position. In 2011, REC modules ranked first in Photon's year long comparative study. On average, REC modules have generated more electricity than 45 other module brands, producing 6% more energy.
